Issue #674

Post by RxParalyze »

XMBC Version: 2.19.1
Windows Version: 10 Pro Build 18363
Mouse Information (brand/model): Irrelevant
Relevant Computer Information (CPU, RAM etc): Ryzen 7 1700 8-core 3200GHz, 32 GB DDR4
Did the problem occur after an upgrade of XMBC? (If so, from what version?): yes,
Did the problem occur after a Windows update/upgrade? (If so, from what version?): No
How long have you used XMBC?: more than a year
What language and keyboard layout do you use in Windows?: QWERTY

Clear description of the problem - try and include as much information as possible, including what button and mappings you are having problems with (if applicable).: Identical to problem #674 in ChangeLog.txt (ironically). This issue hadn't happened before the update. XMBC is totally unresponsive. I can't uninstall and can't stop the process through the XMBC software.

Hi,

Yes this one is still causing some issues - the fix in #674 made a difference but did not completely solve it. I have made further changes in order to diagnose and attempt to fix - the problem is its not something I can reproduce here - there is some thread/timing issue going on which happens only in certain circumstances. However, I think its been narrows down to one particular area and I have re-worked said area, with better error handling and trapping, So far, the current test has not gone wrong - but its only been a week so thats not long enough to be sure.

Once I'm happy that the fix has been effective once and for all, I will push out 2.19.2 I guess.

Regards,
Phil
