Method to disable the "disable Feature" needed

Post by frankfde » Fri Sep 11, 2009 4:19 pm

Hi,
works great. --> Great Job.

The disable feature is ok. But it is essential for me to deactivate the right Mouse Button.
(I build something like a Kioskcomputer)

Is that possible?

Kind regards from Germany
Frank

Hi, I'm not entirely sure what you are asking....

Do you mean you want to configure the right button to do nothing? Or you want a different button to use for the disable XMBC option?

Hi,
no or yes. :) Not accidentally - fully aware.

e.g. I can disable Right Click in Explorer and IE. But I need some Flash and Movie Viewers. Flash has an Context Menu that open IE. And so the User can "look around".

And that has to be blocked. We are running our own shell program and the right Mouse Button in Flash Playser is the last hole. :)

Thanks in advance
Frank

Sorry, but you appear to be asking to disable the right mouse button, not the new feature. Is your concern that you disable the right button, but then a user uses the disable feature to disable XMBC and therefore re-enable the mouse buttons? If so, then I understand I think.

I will add an option to disable his feature in the settings file - maybe via the GUI but maybe just a DIY option in the XML files (as I think this is quite specialised) in the next version. Will this be OK for you?

Thanks,
Phil

You think correct.

>(as I think this is quite specialised)
Yes, it is. I've searched quite a while in the WWW. And i found many threads about "disable the right mouse button". I am not alone. :)

Yes. A DIY option in the XML files is ok.

Many many thanks

With kind regards

OK the option will be there in the next version, whenever that is.

Just out of interest, what's to stop the user closing XMBC or disabling it using the context menu, a method which has existed for some time now?
