Old index, too tired

Post by Procyon » Sat Nov 25, 2017 12:24 pm

Hello, and thanks for this application!

French (sorry) and very old (soon 90), I write bad English.
I have an old index, too tired.
I would like to buy a new wireless mouse ; without trackball. For right-handed.
The condition: to be able to make the simple click with a button under the thumb.

1.- With XMBC, will it be possible for me to obtain this result?
2.- Would you like to advise me a mouse model? (I like Logitech)
On PC, I use Windows 7 - Firefox - Thunderbird - Office. Eight hours a day.

Thank you so much.

HI, I presume you mean you have difficulty using your index finger.

Any wireless mouse with 5 buttons should be capable of doing this, personally I dont like wireless mice but I do have a few. Logitech mice are normally pretty good (although I tend not to install the Logitech software (setpoint etc.) as normally it is not required (although sometimes by default Logitech remap the thumb buttons and then the software is required to change them back to default so XMBC can see them).

I have a Logitech G9 desktop (wired) mouse which is very good. For wireless, I'm not sure, this thread viewtopic.php?f=6&t=2456 suggests that the M510 which would be the obvious choice does not work well for 4th and 5th buttons - but I haven't been able to verify that - it may be a setpoint configuration setting. Therefore I'm a little wary of recommending a device - maybe someone else can say what wireless mice they are using successfully....
