Chording keyboard keys with mouse button

Post by Adrianrff » Sat Apr 08, 2017 4:08 pm

Is it possible to use button chording with keyboard + mouse buttons? For example, I would like to use ctrl + mouse wheel down to undo and ctrl + mouse wheel up to redo.

Also, I'm trying to simulate a ctrl+shift+Z (which is redo in Android Studio), but I can't get it to work. I'm using {CTRL}{SHIFT} Z but the command is not being sent correctly. How should this be done?

It should be possible....

Select chording, then in the chord configuration window for wheel down, select simulated keystrokes
Then type {CTRL}z and select method 1 for the wheel up action and {CTRL}y for wheel down (Im assuming ctrk+z and ctrl+y are undo/redo - if its ctrl+shift+z then {CTRL}{SHIFT}z.

As for ctrl+shift+z then {ctrl}{shift}z should work - make sure there are no spaces in there and try lowercase (case shouldn't matter but check).

Thanks,
Phil

Thanks, @Phil.

I think I didn't explain myself properly. What I meant was chording a keyboard key with a mouse key. For example, pressing ctrl (physically, in the keyboard) and then a mouse wheel up to do something different. As for the ctrl + shift + z, I was leaving spaces, who knows why.

Oh, well there are always layers and layer modifier keys.
Set layer 2 to different actions, and enable layer modifier keys (settings) and set a key to activate layer 2. The layer will be active while the key is held down.

Thanks,
Phil
