Layers not working

Post by Penwoods » Tue Jan 17, 2017 6:24 pm

Hi,
I've been using x-mouse for some time now and cant believe how fantastic it is - however....

I recently ended up doing a factory re-set on my laptop (Acer Aspire) and now cannot get XMouse to work as it did before.
The problem is shifting to other levels, I can only use the left or right mouse button to shift where as before I would use the side buttons.
I have tried re-installing and also importing settings from my tablet (which still runs fine) drivers are all up to date.
The mouse is an HP 5-button Optical Comfort mouse, I have two and both behave the same.
When the XMouse control centre is open it shows the buttons as registering but they do not seem to work.

Any ideas would be gratefully received.

Chris

Further info:

I probably should have let you know that I am running 64bit Windows 10. The program I am trying to use XMouse with is Sketchup 2016 pro.
I have just tried to use a side button to shift layer in Chrome and it works fine so I guess there must be an issue with how I now have Sketchup set up? as before the factory re-set it all worked fine, and still does on my other system.

....Hmmmmmm.....
It kind of now works!! Sometimes the layer shift works but not every time. Its like there is a problem with the mouse buttons, but I have two the same and they both act the same way and also both work fine with XMouse on another system.

In the matter of windows10 only Phil can give You answer.
If XMBC works sometimes and sometimes not I think theres problem with your configuration in XMBC / win10 / or drivers.
Of course Ketchup can have some "mood" :)

"Standard diagnostic" for different issues with XMBC is

Check if you haven't use Scroll Lock

Open XMBC Panel from notification area icon - click all buttons and look if coresponding fields in XMBC panel hightlight in yellow/orange.

Close XMBC (even XMBC process from process explorer IF this is necessary), remove settings from \user\Appdata\roaming\..

Uninstal mouse manufacturer drivers and software (like LogitechGamingSoftware, Razer Synaptic etc...).
Remove manually mouses and Human Interface Devices (HID) from Device Manager.
Reset machine.
Reconnect mouse and allow windows to instal his driver.

Remove installed XMBC with all the settings (probably manually) from \user\Appdata\roaming\..
Download Install latest stable version (or latest beta ONLY IF there is no issues with it on beta topic on this forum).

If mouse is wireless, check battery ;)
Let the PC do the hard work = AHK + C# + HTML/CSS/JS + XMBC + Clavier+ + AutoLisp + VBA/OOB

Thanks for the quick response, I've a feeling its something to do with the configuration. I will try as you've described and remove all drivers etc.

Many thanks
Chris

Hi BriHecato
Thank you so much.
Not sure where the actual problem was, i suspect it was the mouse driver but after manually removing everything via /user/appdata....... and re installing mouse driver and XMouse everything works perfect again.

Many thanks
Chris
