Re: windows low level hook timeout(reboot required)

The Windows default (when no value is specified in the registry) is 200ms (I believe) Some XMBC actions don't work well with it that quick so I think the XMBC installer sets it to 500ms or 1000ms (1 second). If you see lots of hook timeout messages in the XMBC log file, then you can increase this va...

Re: how to disable a profile with hold alt key?

Hi, I'm glad that worked for you. Sorry I cant offer any more on Mac OSX/Linux. There is both paypal and bitcoin donate buttons on the home page in the donate section. Some have suggested removing the bitcoin link due to its reputation - but I don't really understand that! https://www.highrez.co.uk/...

Re: Macro Delay?

Hi, I presume you mean a simulated keystroke "macro". In the simkey window there is a repeat delay setting - which is zero by default. Try changing this to 1 or anything > 0 and see if that stops the initial delay (which is the default Windows keypress initial delay that is used when you specify the...

Re: Scroll Msg in Older Program

Thanks for letting me (and everyone else) know that my theory was correct.
I hope 2.18 will be released pretty soon - although probably not before Christmas now - maybe just after assuming the current beta throws up no more issues (no complaints yet) :)

Re: Full screen application {ALT} {F4} in version 2.17 is invalid

So, your not using simuated keystrokes for this? I'm guessing as you didn't answer me. When you are full screen does ALT+F4 on the keyboard work as expected or do you still have to exit full screen first? You could try simulated keystrokes and add {ESC} or whatever key quite full screen before {ALT}...

Re: Microsoft Edge

Old versions of what? Edge or XMBC? You havn't even told me what version of XMBC you are using. Is it 2.17 or one of the new Beta's? Anyway, it seems to work randomly here (as it sometimes it works, more often is does not). However, it is Edge that is not working, XMBC IS always sending the keys - a...

Re: Full screen application {ALT} {F4} in version 2.17 is invalid

Sorry, its not clear what you mean. Are you talking about simulated keystrokes, or the "close window (alt+f4)" option? If you are NOT using simulated keystrokes, can you try using that, along with {ALT}{f4} and see if that works? If you are already doing that then I'm afraid I need more information ...

Re: Better UI for multiple apps per profile

Actively maintained open-source project can live under your control. It's easier to contribute to maintained project than spin off a fork. If you just publish the sources archive - that will mean you're giving away the control over it to unknown people. Moving to Github/Gitlab yourself will mean yo...

Re: Better UI for multiple apps per profile

Yeh (I updated my post above after you had posted) but the "full" install of XMBC (beta or final) includes the PDF user manual. And if that is there, it will open that from the button in the about window rather than opening the link. This is good for beta because you can see the latest manual, befor...

Re: Better UI for multiple apps per profile

Defiantly off topic... new thread NEXT time please :). I didn't write the manual. A user (Maintrane) did - several years ago, and he was instrumental in some of the changes in XMBC v2.0. He has not been in contact for while now so I have been maintaining and updating it as I add new things. In the l...

Re: how to disable a profile with hold alt key?

Hi, I'll answer your last question first :). No there is no support for any OS other than Windows. XMBC ties tightly in to the Windows API and relies on mouse hooks. I don't know how Mac OSX/Unix works but I expect it would be quite different in this regard and therefore would pretty much be a compl...

Re: XMBC 2.18 Beta

Here is 2.18 Beta 18... If you have check for beta versions enabled, you should get notified of a new version and prompted to update in the next day or so. This is the most efficient method (bandwidth wise) as the updates are only a fraction of the size of the full install. Otherwise, you can get th...
