Re: Activate the Magnifier scrolling on the MouseWheel with the "shift" key

OK I think I can see the problem here... Magnifier zoom in/out send WIN+(+) and WIN+(-) keyboard shortcuts (effectively using simulated keystrokes internally)... The problem is when you introduce shift, its ok for zoom in (shift+win+(+)) is fine but (shift+win+(-)) does not work. (Does that make sen...

Re: What to open with

The portable version is a simple a zip file (there is no portable installer - portable does not require installation!) - simply open/extract it with your favourite ZIP program to a folder anywhere on your PC and then run the program. I don't know why you would have your computer set to open zips wit...

Re: glitch with windows 10 v2004

OK thats good and a relief - its always a bit of a gamble with a significant Windows update (like 2004 is). I upgraded three machines last week and haven't yet noticed anything strange going on - but I do wonder if the default hook timeouts have changed (I think it was 200ms in previous Windows 10 b...

Re: glitch with windows 10 v2004

Hi Keith, I'm running 2004 (just released) on both my laptop and desktop - Ive not noticed this. Have a look in the log and see if there are any errors/warning. I suspect the hook timeout (I have increased mine - the default is often too low and if it times out, windows removes the hook and you will...

Re: Have to click inside window to activate scrolling

Probably because that one isnt behaving when the scroll messages are "redirected" to the window. Maybe the redirected messages need to go somewhere else (like its parent or another path). As you didn't specify what Window, I can only guess. There are many windows that do this - especially browsers. ...

Re: Restore Desktop Icon Layout Crash

Sorry yes, I fixed it in 2.19.2 and forgot to pack reference it in this thread!
It should no longer crash and should I hope perform a bit better too.

Re: XMBC dehooks and/or freezes after away for a long time

There was a time when the hooks could get lost during sleep - that is why that was put in originally... If it works with it off (and the hooks don't get lost) then great - its more efficient not to re-hook. That's why I made the option to turn it off available in 2.19.2 but I would of course like to...

Re: Touchpad Scroll Triggers Paste while XMBC is Running

Sorry, no its not possible. XMBC uses Windows mouse hooks which do not give any indication of the source device of the message. It has no way of knowing if the message came from a mouse, touchpad or anything else!

Re: XMBC dehooks and/or freezes after away for a long time

OK, Thanks, I need to take some time to digest that properly... Initial thoughts are its not good that both threads have the same ID 0x704 - that may well be a bug in the logging though (if thats the case, a real pain to figure out whats going on). I will have to look in detail at it, with the code ...

Re: XMBC dehooks and/or freezes after away for a long time

I confess, the laptop CPU issue was a bit of a stab in the dark, a recent CPU should be absolutely fine given that it has worked for years... But of course XMBC has changed - and maybe the two combined have put something over the edge... I'm only speculating because I have never seen this - but all ...

Re: XMBC dehooks and/or freezes after away for a long time

Oh wow... So this is the first report of a problem post 2.19.2. Everyone else (so far) has reported it is now working - so lets leave this one here in his thread :). OK. Several things to do.... The first and most important (to try and track this down) is to enable even more (targetted) logging - th...

Re: Using Two mapped buttons together

PS-> the OP was talking about having multiple "sticky" buttons together which is completely different :). Where a button action is held down (sticky) on first click, and released on second click. He wanted to have different sticky actions on each button, but at the moment in XMBC you can only run on...

Re: Using Two mapped buttons together

OK thats makes sense - for what its worth, button chording blocks the source button UNTIL it knows if your chording or not - so it *should* avoid that problem, at the slight expense of potential few ms lag (which I why personally I avoid chording on the left button). But if you want to try it - to s...

Re: Using Two mapped buttons together

Button chording should do that - you would have to setup both left and right buttons to chord though - and if AHK isn't working, there is a fair chance XMBC will suffer the same - because XMBC and AHK use the same underlaying API to send things as far as I know.

Re: How to change the bypass key.

No, its a different / /alternative way of doing it. As I said, scrolllock was chosen because its general lack of use elsewhere. Using any other lock key would be generally conflict with other things - most people (I know) actually make regular use of caps lock and numlock - so using those to disable...
