Re: XMBC 2.18 Beta

I thought it was about time, and the right thing to do before my software signing certificate expires next week (because last year it took a while to renew it - hopefully that wont be the case this year). Ive been sitting on a few of those fixes for some time and it was about time I let them loose, ...

Re: 4th button and Windows10

Yes, that makes sense, because that log shows no evidence of button 4 being pressed - which means XMBC is not seeing the button. This probably means that your mouse has got some configuration which alters the button behavior (logitech often have this ability using their setpoint software). It might ...

Re: Windows System Beep (audio) / IO latency

Give 2.18 Beta 1 a try too, I have made some optimizations that may make a difference. While I'm not convinced it will make a difference, it certainly would be good to give it a try.

Thanks,
Phil

Re: 4th button and Windows10

Brilliant - thanks for the updated information. Can you try something for me, enable debug logging (in settings -> logging & updates) OK and apply that, then try pressing button 4 a few times. After that, send me the log again, it should have much more in it this time and will at least establish if ...

Re: XMBC 2.18 Beta

OK so here is 2.18 Beta 1. If you have check for beta versions enabled, you should get notified of a new version and prompted to update in the next day or so. This is the most efficient method (bandwidth wise) as the updates are only a fraction of the size of the full install. Otherwise, you can get...

XMBC 2.18 Beta

OK, Its been a while since I released 2.17 and a few issue have cropped up, especially some strange ones that I cant reproduce which is troublesome and hopefully this beta run can help isolate and sole those. Now is the time to think about the future and what will be in XMBC 2.18 and so, with that i...

Re: 4th button and Windows10

No obvious thoughts off the top of my head, but wow... how many of the posting rules can you break in one post... :) I have moved this to the correct forum (XMBC). Can you please give a little more information - what have you mapped that is no longer working? What version of XMBC? Did it stop workin...

Re: Windows System Beep (audio) / IO latency

I don't suppose you have an XBox One controller connected to your PC do you? Ive just seen numerous posts on issues with mouse lag caused by the XInput driver (related to XBOX Controllers). Others are also reporting laggy mouse buttons causing beeps in Windows 10, (not mentioning the xbox controller...

Re: Windows System Beep (audio) / IO latency

Hi Again, I noticed in your profile that your have "Enable profile switching on mouse move" disable in the advanced settings. This may be relevant, because with this disabled, XMBC checks the active process when the mouse button is clicked.... And to check the active process, it has to do more work,...

Re: loosing clickability Foobar2000+FFportable

Firstly, I presume you meant to post this in the XMBC forum rather than the InpOut32 forum??! I'll try and remember to move it when I get home! Now, there are specific workarounds for Foobar in XMBC because back in the day (over 10 years ago now probably) there were compatibility issues that I worke...

Re: Simulated Mouse Clicks Cause Screen to Turn Off

Thanks for the info, but it has caused me some more confusion... the double click action should be doing exactly the same thing as sim keys {LMB}{LMB} under the hood - so I don't understand why one option would differ from the other. The only slight difference I can see is that there may be some add...

Re: How to set up Xmouse to switch Layers when holding down a key?

Hi, I'm glad you figured it out. unfortunately, that is a downside of the modifier keys, I cant block them because it would block any use of that key. There are alternatives, like global hotkeys and timers (or simulated keys {layer:x}) to switch layers back but its all a bit fiddly I'm afraid. Thank...

Re: "Change Movement to Scroll" - default action triggered after movement

Typical, on a day I had some free time to investigate - it worked... And now that time is over, it doesn't work... And either way, I cant reproduce it (I will have to dig out my track ball and try with that next - but Im not holding up much hope :(). XMBC sends scroll messages when the cursor moves ...

Re: Windows System Beep (audio) / IO latency

A little more progress on Killy's thread - the high CPU usage was not being caused by XMBC, but was causing problems in XMBC. Can you see if your Internet Connection Service is stalling? Maybe use process monitor/explorer to see if any other process/service is taking a significant amount of CPU (lik...

Re: "Change Movement to Scroll" - default action triggered after movement

OK, sorry I didn't realize that the ICS fix also fixed the default action triggering... Its great if that fixes it - I will have to see if BoseRoHS is having similar issues with high CPU usage from ICS! But it makes some sense, esp, seeing those log entries. I think you are correct in that the ICS s...
