Re: XMBC 2.17 Beta

OK here is 2.17 Beta 10. If you have check for beta versions enabled, you should get notified of a new version and prompted to update in the next day or so. This is the most efficient method (bandwidth wise) as the updates are only a fraction of the size of the full install. Otherwise, you can get t...

Re: Please help translation XMBC to your language?

OK, I'm going to propose making it this: "Windows Message tags:" => "" "\t{POSTWM:<M>,<L>,<W>} Post a message to the window under the cursor." => "" "\t\t\t{SENDWM:<M>,<L>,<W>} Send a message to the window under the cursor." => "" "\t\t\tWHERE:\t<M> is the message, <L> is the LPARAM value and <W> is...

Re: New action proposition: send API message

Indeed the "destination of the messages" is one of the things that I can't understand right now. I mean what choices are there e.g. send to the active window (even if the cursor is away from it), send to the window under the cursor (no matter active or not), send to minimized window, send to Window...

Re: New action proposition: send API message

In anticipation krzysiunet's reply, here are my own thoughts.... Windows pretty much runs on messages - so pretty much everything is controlled by messages behind the scenes. However, there are so many that its mind blowing and not simple :). You really need some advanced knowledge of how Windows it...

Re: volume2 doesn't work

I'm using volume2 with no problems here. Maybe its the way you have setup XMC but as you have provided no information about that, nor ANY of the information requested in the forum rules . I don't see much point playing a guessing game! Perhaps you could send me your profile and a little bit more con...

Re: Please help translation XMBC to your language?

Thanks for the input Suk, I guess really its going to be up to the person translating to make the final decision but I will probably end up changing the English slightly to make easier for Maxoku to translate as we have been discussing.

Re: Please help translation XMBC to your language?

Yes, well If a multi-million $$$ company like Microsoft can't get it right, what chance do I have :). This one, the overview of Windows messages, seems to have it right... https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/ms632590(v=vs.85).aspx Edit, but delve a little deeper and I got "Windo...

Re: Please help translation XMBC to your language?

OK Im also confused now, but looking at MS's documentation, they call it "Windows messages" so Im thinking this Windows bit is the trademarked OS name... and messages is lower case... So it probably should be.... Windows message tags: {POSTWM:<M>,<L>,<W>} Post a W indows message to the window under ...

Re: Please help translation XMBC to your language?

I think "Windows Message" tags should remain as "Windows Message". The Windows message (Post Windows message/Send Windows message - I think that Windows should also remain (and should have a Capital W unlike right now where ii is windows message - should probably be Windows Message. Its sad that the...

Re: Please help translation XMBC to your language?

Well, I don't really know - I guess 'Windows message' is the name of the API system so I guess thats the name of the OS. But "to the window under the cursor" is a window. Its a tough one - Is it called Microsoft Windows in Polish? And what is an individual window called in that context? Do Microsoft...

Re: XMBC 2.17 Beta

Sorry, but I don't think that is going to happen. For starters, the text is already very long. But primarily, if someone wants to send windows messages, then I expect they will be competent enough to find out what to put in there (google is better than any little bit of text I can put in there). The...

The line #467 cannot be translated :!:

Code: Select all

"\t\t\tNOTE:\t<M>, <L> & <W> can be specified in decimal (eg. 16) or hex (eg. 0x10)." => ""
Yes, as I said above, I know about this and it will be fixed in the next beta.
Thanks,
Phil

Re: Please help translation XMBC to your language?

No, LPARAM and WPARAM are effectively the names of the parameters to PostMessage and SendMessage API's so anyone looking at MSDN or any other windows programming site to find out what message to send, will know what LPARAM and WPARAM mean. For the same reasons, I'm not sure changing Post or Message ...

what is the different between „Post windows message...” and „Send windows message...”?
Post posts and does not wait for a response, send sends and waits for the result (so for this purpose, not a lot of difference).
Lookup PostMessage and SendMessage on MSDN for MS's official answer :).
