Re: X-mouse button control manual.instructions

Well, yes, as I mentioned above, simulated keystrokes allows your to type in a key or sequence of keys that get replayed when you press the button they are assigned to. You can setup profiles (for individual applications) and each can have their own button mappings and simulated key sequences. You c...

Re: X-mouse button control manual.instructions

Hum, thats potentially a tricky one... Its probably doable... but maybe not in one action. It really depends on the application you are using (presumably a browser?). You can certainly wire up a button that types your email address (and return etc.) when you press it (look at simulated keystrokes), ...

Re: X-mouse button control manual.instructions

Well, in the 15 years or so of XMBC's existance, no one else has asked what it means (that I remember) but lets draw a line under that now :). I don't recall seeing anywhere where you said what you were trying to achieve with XMBC... If you would be so good as to repeat it, I will try and answer (ma...

Re: X-mouse button control manual.instructions

I'm sorry but if you are on a technical forum asking questions about a specific piece of software, I would expect one to be able to figure out the most simplest of acronyms based on the four letters that make up the capitalized initials of the software, especially when it is generously mentioned thr...

and what is "xmbc"? thats what mostly threw me.
XMBC is X-Mouse Button Control, which is presumably the software you are asking for the instructions for or else you are in the wrong place ??!!!

Re: X-mouse button control manual.instructions

lol, yes sorry about that, I guess I tend to use "explorer" style paths, not least because thats how its actually implemented (as folders and subfolders)...
But anyway, Dolmatov pointed out an easier option (the about window) which I had completely forgotten about!!

Re: X-mouse button control manual.instructions

What? Your running Windows and you don't have a start menu - you can't be serious?... The little button in the bottom left of your screen? OK I know it does not physically say "start" these days but surly, everyone knows thats the Microsoft Windows Start menu... The one where you start your programs...

Re: X-mouse button control manual.instructions

The manual (user guide) is on the start menu right next to xmbc (start\all programs\highresolution enterprises\x-mouse button control)
Or there is a link right on the download page (at the bottom of the overview).

Is it really that difficult to find? How can I make it easier?

Re: XMBC 2.17 Beta

OK here is 2.17 Beta 13. If you have check for beta versions enabled, you should get notified of a new version and prompted to update in the next day or so. This is the most efficient method (bandwidth wise) as the updates are only a fraction of the size of the full install. Otherwise, you can get t...

Re: keyboard shortcut + mouse button?

Due to the way layers are currently implemented, yes it will be difficult and time consuming to make the active layer profile specific.... I might be able to reset the layer when switching profiles so it goes back to layer one, but probably not much more than that certainly in the short term. As for...

Re: How Do I Disable Xmouse in Youtube Video?

It depends... if the youtube video player can be detected in the browser or not - most HTML5 players embed seamlessly which makes it difficult to detect the different between a video and any other web content. If you can create a window profile for the youtube video window then you can leave that pr...

Re: Scroll Wheel No Longer Double Clicks

Hi, there hasn't been an update to XMBC for several months, so I guess its not going to be an XMBC change, unless you only just updated to 2.16.1 (you didn't state what version you are using). What else has changed on your system? Is XMBC recognising the click at all (does the dropdown change colour...

Re: can xmouse detect a mouse button pressed for 1 second?

If you want to use 2.17 beta in portable mode, copy the 2 DLLs and 1 EXE from the installed location over the top of the portable files. Then that latest beta should work in portable mode (there is no real difference in the code, just the packaging).

Re: can xmouse detect a mouse button pressed for 1 second?

If you grab the latest beta, there is a new option "Time dependent button actions" In there, you can assign different actions depending on how long you hold the button (you can have up to 3 actions as well as the default action with user definable times for each) So I think that the answer is yes. 2...
